We always believe whatever happens is all because of God, he is solely responsible for all the doings in this world.
But if God is the one doing all the acts then what role do the karmas have and if karmas are everything then why do we worship God? So to understand soul and karmas we would have to first understand God and his role in the Law of Karmas.
We know that God is the supreme soul which is free from all karmas, which has achieved enlightenment and liberation. All the liberated souls get merged with the supreme soul called God. It is quite evident from this that the existence of God and Karma are quite different from each other. The individual or the soul is the doer of karma and is solely responsible to face its results. God or the supreme soul does not interfere with this process of soul and karma.
The supreme souls are the souls which have destroyed the cycle of karma and also taught us the path to do that. We bow down to the supreme souls or Gods so that we get the energy and the positivity to achieve the same.
Since we have understood that our soul is the doers and the receiver of karmic effect and God does not have any interference. Hence, it is not right to put the blame on the supreme soul or God about our own doings.
It is quite important for us to worship the supreme soul but not with the objective of eliminating sorrows and endless happiness but to improve our souls, to gain right knowledge and pray to liberate our souls.
